If Dr. Marc gives you advise, LISTEN TO HIM!!! Six months ago I was whining about my lipids being terrible even after losing to goal.
Dr. Marc sent me a plan for lowering lipids. IT TOTALLY WORKED! My Dr’s office called me yesterday and my cho. was 300….NOW 230 My trig. were 300….NOW157. I cannot take statins to reduce fats in the blood and this is like a dream come true. And it is all done with food and exercise. No insulin, no needles, no glucatrol. B/P is 110/60 with way less meds, no angina pain. Taking exercise classes 5 days a week and spinning all over town. I feel so free. Who KNEW! Why haven’t any of my docs mentioned this plan to me before? When I talked with my physician last week (before the tests) he reviewed the plan and said, “A lot of things you can’t eat,” and I told him there were more that I could! His nurse said, “You’ve got it goin’ on, girl!” when she called with my new results……. It is never to late to change our lives. I am living proof of that. Just be willing to change your eating plan when necessary. And find a way to stick with it! Plan, plan, plan ahead. Learn to love the challange! Make a game of it. I love my small treats every afternoon. A frozen smoothie of vanilla soy milk and frozen mixed berries (so thick you must use a spoon to eat it). A big cup of white peach tea with a little soy milk. A handful of fresh raspberries. Life is good. Headed for my exercise class. I may have to take it sitting down but you would be amazed at the workout I get. Take care, buddies and know I love you, Marge

You got it about planning ahead! It took me awhile to learn this and now it is becoming second nature! I am doing so much better with my eating plan (not a diet) since I have been doing this. I journal my food and I plan ahead!
Big Hugs for a wonderful buddy!
Have a good one!
Marge, you are the hottest Vegan babe I know and thank you for sharing those terrific numbers! Bravo!
I cheat sometimes on this diet, but ya know, vegan plus a little fish sure makes me the happiest camper around. I enjoy food, but nothing tastes as great as optimal health.
Thanks for sharing this! *hugs*
That is wonderful! Anytime you can avoid harmful meds with who knows what type of side effects and do things the good old fashioned way that is the best way to go!! I often wonder why doctors don’t offer this type of advice myself but then I remember they are sold out to the drug companies… Awesome keep up the great work you have done for yourself! You are such an inspiration to many.

What blew my mind was how low my C-Reactive Protein test, a test for inflammation. I scored .29.
It is true that bp, diabetes, and cholesterol medication do not take care the problem. I was surprised to learn that doctors use diuretics to knock down bp for some patients when they should be advising them to drink more water and eat more bananas and avocados. If only more people realize that diabetes can damage their nerves and kidneys PERMANENTLY as well as lead to blindness, stroke, and heart attack, will they then start to learn to control their glucose. And with diabetes on a trendy rise, this is NOT good.
Wow, you are a Godsend!!! I just happened to click on you and then I read this blog. I am a type 2 diabetic and I have hi cholesterol and have been struggling to get my glucose under control. I think I am finally getting it all figured out. I have an endocrinologist who actually is teaching me and running tests on me so I know what to do. The other doctor basically just sent me out on my own to find out my own solutions. I am finally starting to lose weight and I am feeling stronger. I had a cardiosonogram today, which I have no idea how that went. Hopefully good. I am 42, but would guess my body is that of a 82 year old person.
